Forum 2.0!

Hey everybody! I'm thrilled to announce that we've completed our next round of work on the Treehouse Forum, and there are a lot of exciting new features!

First you may have noticed the new look and feel. You'll also notice that the forum is now cleanly divided into "Topics" like HTML, CSS, and a General Discussion area. The hope is that this will help you guys find interesting conversations more quickly.

Also - the real big news - we now have support for Q&A functionality! Whenever you post in any topic that isn't "General Discussion," your post will be treated like a question. Other students can post answers, and their answers can be upvoted and downvoted by the Treehouse community. You can also choose to select a "Best Answer" for your question. And all of it's tied to points - for every answer of yours that's upvoted, and/or selected as the "Best Answer" you'll get points in the appropriate category!

Have fun, and let us know what you think of the new forum :)

Yes, it's much like several other Q&A sites on the web :)

Tommy Morgan , Wow that nice. I hopefully that our team can add new feature such upload image. Since some people new to programming so that they'll tell exactly what they ask actually. Hopefully my suggestion can help to expand this community. :)

Oooooo, we fancy now :)

All I did was announce it - actual props should be directed at Daniel Lewis, Matthew Spiel, and Joe Steele who did the majority of the work on these changes.

Cool nice job. It would be also cool if you can create a post for every project/course so user will automatically post there question in the course category

Very strange, I'd had the thought that the upvoting would be a good feature here, good work :)

Very strange

What's strange exactly?

Very cool. Thanks, Team Treehouse!

Indeed

Cool! )

Good work! Keep it up! ^^

Greetings from Singapore!

Please let us know if you think there's anything we've missed or maybe something you think we could do better. We are constantly iterating in order to create a better user experience, and your feedback is absolutely essential to that process!

I noticed that you now get points based on the voting and best answer in the forum. Yet the What Are Points modal dialogue hasn't been updated to say how many points you get.

James Barnett We'll have that information added to the modal shortly.

This is awesome, can't wait to use the new forums!

Nice !

Same here, same error... the pink frog prompts...

I know we pushed a fix for this, but has everything been resolved for you guys?

What is the green tick for? I thought it might have been to show that I had previously viewed that topic but it doesn't seem to be following that pattern.

Is it to show the topic has been resolved?

Tony McKeown, your second assumption is correct. The Green check mark is to designate if a 'best answer' was given in reply to a forum post.

You guys are amazing!!!! the worlds best forums just doubled in AWESOMENESS <3 :')
