How to Enter: If your entry involves front end code, create your interactive animation entry as a "pen" on Codepen.io and then post the link to your pen as an answer to this post.
For other entries, you can either upload it to Github or zip up your project and provide a download link via Dropbox. Then post the link as a reply to this post.
Due Date: All entries must be submitted by February 16th at 11:45pm ET. Here's a timezone chart so you can see what time that is for your locale.

Courses Plus Student 3,199 PointsSix days is not much at all to create something worthy. I suppose every web designer/developer consider portfolio must be perfect.
Stephen Mariano Cabrera
5,932 PointsDoes it matter if the content of the resume is not in English?
Pasan Premaratne
Treehouse TeacherStephen Mariano Cabrera - No, not at all. I'll be looking at creativity over specific content if that helps.
Robert Mion
5,973 PointsAs delightful as the example interactive resume is, something like that might actually be quite off-putting to an employer for several reasons:
- There's almost no structural markup, so the page is not accessible at all (Bad semantics)
- Towards the end, I'm pressing the down arrow to go 'up' (Bad UX)
- It took me roughly 5 minutes to see everything, when normally employers prefer to scan a resume in under 15 seconds (Poor catering to several audiences)
- Some content was covered up by banners on my 11 inch Macbook Pro, preventing me from seeing it all (Lack of design testing)
Anyways, while this is a fun contest promoting interactive design, as a web community, we should at all times be focused on the content first, then adding fun interactive elements to surprise and delight all users. Not just being creative for creative's sake and abandoning traditionally accepted UX principles.

19,233 PointsWhen this site came out, it caused a sensation. I remember reading how it had been featured on linkedin, fastco and baidu. It is probably the most viewed online resume of all time. (pre contest)
Marcus Bellon
2,866 PointsWell, you just like to poo-poo all over creativity, don't you?
Anthony Garritano
Courses Plus Student 2,165 PointsMarcus Bellon That's not fair. 'Creativity' means absolutely nothing if the design doesn't work for the target audience. Robert's points are valid, even if you or I disagree with them.

6,241 PointsQuick Question to Pasan Premaratne Can you use templates ? From lets say Themeforest or does it have to be out of scratch ?
Pasan Premaratne
Treehouse TeacherHey Pablo Litardo,
Sorry for the late reply! You can use JS libraries, Sass plugins and those kinds of things; writing from scratch isn't a requirement. We want you to build something yourself, so if you're using a template as a starting point that's fine, but not if you just upload the template and tweak small things.
Hope that makes sense.
Emil Wallgren
11,737 PointsThis is my first project ever! Extremely proud :-) I know that It's not nearly as good as the other competitors, but I've been longing to be part of a treehouse competition, so... this is my contribution :-)

Pasan Premaratne
Treehouse TeacherHey everyone,
I'm thoroughly impressed with all the entries! You guys put together great resumes in such a short amount of time. The goal of this contest was to give you an incentive to get started on being able to showcase your skills to employers and you did just that. Now that you're past the initial hump, keep working on these ideas!
On to the announcement :) Congrats to Zoe Peng and her winning entry! It was really hard to pick a winner guys, you all did so well but here's why Zoe won:
- She nailed it with the creativity & interactivity angle which was the the theme of the contest.
- Her entry is custom built without the use of any frameworks.
- She did all the animations in CSS without relying on JavaScript (and it performs well too!)
- She made effective use of Sass
- It was quite easy for me to view her past work and access her GitHub profile.
Great job everyone! Stay tuned for the next contest.
Cheers, Pasan

Treehouse TeacherHey guys,
Don't be intimidated at all by the example provided. That is just there to show you an example of creativity. I'm certainly not looking for you to produce something that complex, unless you want to :)
Daniel Fernandez and Brian Pirouet - you guys should submit your entries! I'm pretty sure you are more capable than you give yourself credit for :)
