four digit TIme

I'm trying to complete the quiz for the BootStrap to Wordpress, and am stuck on the question asking me to type the code to display the year as a four digit number.

I entered the_time('Y'); and the_date('Y'); I've re watched the videos and don't seem to find a different answer.

Where should I be looking for this solution?
