Hi Jarrel! You're doing just fine, but you missed part of the instructions, I believe. The last line of the instructions says to return the value. However, your function is missing a return statement.

return year;

This line should be inside your function to return the value of the year variable. I'll leave the placement up to you. Good luck! :sparkles:

Also, it should be getFullYear() (with a capital 'Y').

Thanks Lain. It's was the capital Y that was stopping. It's always those small little details that get me
