Future of web development

Hey guys, I was just wondering what the future of web development looks like? I have read a lot of articles saying it's a dying career and soon it'll be nearly impossible to make a living off. So basically I just wanted to get some opinions on the matter because I'm hoping to become a front-end dev in the future.

The web is flourishing and is still a rather young invention that keeps becoming more and more valuable every year. Developers and engineers are pushing technology to places only a couple decades ago would have been thought impossible. With this comes a drastic need for people who understand these ever expanding technologies. That means developers, designers, and software engineers. No other industry has moved at such a fast pace in history as the tech industry does. In my opinion, with something that is constantly evolving, the front-end developer of the future may have a few different skills than those of today, but the skills they acquire today will help make the future skills easier to grasp being that often times skills needed iterate over time, not drastically change. That being said, a developer of today will be highly valuable in the future as long as they continue to grow their skill set and adapt to new technologies and techniques as any good developer should.

Absolutely agree. If anything, the field will grow faster than any other out there. Web Development is only just beginning... the future is endless!

I agree with Nicholas, and disagree with the articles you found. I'd question if the author of said articles are even qualified to make such a claim, and how they based their opinion from.

When you have an industry that is literally exploding with new technology and direction, how is that dying? When you have companies who have been producing computer software programs, now moving towards web based cloud software, how is that dying?

If you wouldn't mind, I'd actually love to check out these articles. I enjoy reading vastly different opinion articles. It helps keep me in check.
