Generics are confusing

I do not understand anything going on in the last two stages. I thought i was getting object oriented programming, but this lost me. I understand that we are essentially modifying an object to add more features than provided by the super class, but I am lost in the jargon. Is there another resource we can use to get a definition of generics, comparables, and serialization that is NOT filled with so much technical jargon?

I hope this course is redone. I totally do not mind it being super long so that I can understand everything better,
