getJSON function

I was wondering why 'getJSON' function worked even though that function has 'return' on line 2. Thank you!

It's going to return the promise object. The rest of the code from line 3 to 20 is inside the promise object that is being returned. Anything after line 20 wouldn't have been run because it's after the return statement.
