git push -u origin master not working

when i add git push -u origin master it tells me

error: src refspec master does not match any.
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://github.com/ChristianE1 25/medals.git'

I did the steps before this one but I'm having a problem with this one

Hey Christian! I am not sure what steps you did before. Just making sure you did: git add . git commit -m "message here what you changed"

and then pushed?
