I'm going to try and apply for some Front End Web Development positions soon. I've made a website which will showcase my work, I designed the UI for a friend's Python based app, and I'm currently working on a thing for a Candian Youth Orchestra from Canadia -- Just need a couple more projects to clinch it.
Where's a good place to search for charities that require IT volunteers? I'm going to start googling as soon as I post this. But was wondering if anyone from the UK could recommend good places to look online - if there are any - for people who need things like websites made for them for free.
Thx ~Jay

Treehouse Guest TeacherMaybe you can look on the "Charity Commission" website https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/charity-commission

2,614 PointsHi Jay,
I would try a couple of things if I were in your shoes. The first is looking for professional credentials that can speak to your new design skills. NationBuilder has one for web designers called the Architect certification and the program is free - nationbuilder.com/architects_apply.
I'm in the US and search these job banks regularly:
nationbuilder.com/jobs_board idealist.org democraticgain.org
Another idea is cruising the forums of popular CMS's and CRMs. Very often you'll have people who need help and don't know how to get it. Offering your help is a great way to get your foot in the door.
Good luck on your job hunt!

12,624 PointsI'm just reading through this now... Is Nation Builder open to people in the UK?

12,624 PointsYes, I noticed that after browsing around a little longer. :D
This looks great. After fiddling around for a while and signing up for all the wrong things, I finally figured out what I need to be applying for is a "Nation Builder Architect". I've filled out a form, and I'll see about building a practice theme with their framework. some time this evening.
Thanks for the referral. This could be exactly the thing I was looking for.
