Google payments center, do I need a company?

I have finished my first app and I'm going to publish it soon. However, when I tried creating a Google payments center profile, it says I need to enter a legal business. They require a company name, adress etc. Do I actually need to start up a company to sell my app for 1$?

Yes, you do need to have a business but a business could simply be a sole proprietorship under your own own name or assumed business name. The legal requirements can vary greatly depending on where you live so you'll want to check on those first. Googling "start a business in <your state, province, country here> should get you started.

There is a Treehouse video from the Freelancing course that covers common business types in the US you can choose. https://teamtreehouse.com/library/how-to-freelance/creating-a-long-term-business/business-entity-choices

Thank you. Looks like I dont need to own a company to sell my apps in Sweden, however, I made up a company name that I most likely will use in the near future if/when i start my own.
