Handling Exceptions in python

def add(num1, num2): try: total = float(num1)+ float(num2)

except ValueError: 
    return None

else:
return float(num1)+ float(num2)

Please see the below code I used to pass this challenge:

def add(num1, num2):
    try:
        total = float(num1) + float(num2)
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return total
