Can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my code and how it is not valid

"Create a variable request that stores the result of the get method."

You need to use the existing get method. No need to create a new one.

var http = require("http");

var request = http.get("http://teamtreehouse.com/chalkers.json", function(response){
  console.log(response.statusCode);
});
