have any of you guys started building a different website while taking this course?

Just wondering if it may be a good idea to start building a website from this track

Definitely , you could build another website at the same time. But i would suggest to finish the course first before starting making a new one. Overall course and practice will help you build new website better. Coz you have better and whole understanding of HTML , CSS and Javascript basics.
