You've put the member variable inside the onCreate() method. If you move it to the top of the class, above onCreate() your code will work just fine:
public class MovieActivity extends Activity {
@InjectView(R.id.movieTitle) TextView mTitleLabel;
// put it here ^^^
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_movie);
ButterKnife.inject(this);
// The rest of the code is omitted for brevity :)
}
}
