Having trouble adding attributes. Not sure how this is supposed to go :/

I'm still struggling with the logical progression of jQuery...

js/app.js
$("a").attr(".external").target("_blank");
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" title="no title" charset="utf-8">
  <title>Links Page</title>
</head>
<body>
  <h1>Links</h1>
  <ul>
    <li><a href="http://google.com" class="external">Google</a></li>
    <li><a href="http://yahoo.com" class="external">Yahoo</a></li>
  </ul>
  <script src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.0.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
  <script src="js/app.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
</body>
</html>

Hi Harper!

You are on the right track but just have a few things wrong. The layout should be as follows;

$(name of the class you are targeting).attr("the attribute you are trying to change", "the value you want to set")

So your code should actually read:

$(".external").attr("target", "_blank");

Hope this helped :)!
