Having Trouble on Code Challenge: Iterable

I have no idea what I am doing wrong on this challenge. I watched the video again, but Kenneth rushes through the iter method, not giving time for the concept to sink in. Could someone please help me?

    def __init__(self, pattern=None):
        self.pattern = pattern

    def __str__(self):
        output = []
        for blip in self.pattern:
            if blip == '.':
                output.append('dot')
            else:
                output.append('dash')
        return '-'.join(output)

    def __iter__(self):
        for item in pattern:
            yield item


class S(Letter):
    def __init__(self):
         pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
         super().__init__(pattern)

pattern is an attribute of the Letter object, so you have to call the variable 'pattern' from self:

for item in self.pattern:
