Heading not turning red

Both my HTML and JS code look fine. It's not working for some reason. I used an alert('hello') to see if the html and js are linked and it works.

<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>JavaScript and the DOM</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css"> </head> <body> <h1 id="myHeading">JavaScript and the DOM</h1> <p>Making a web page interactive</p> <script src="app.js"></script> </body> </html>

const myHeading=document.getElementById('myHeading'); myHeading.addEventListener('click',() => { myHeading.style.color='red'; });

Leo,

I looked at everything and even copied and pasted your code in CodePen. If I click on the heading, the text color changes to red. Your code looks good to me!

I'd suggest looking in the console to see if you are getting any errors. But from what I can see, it should be changing the color if you click on the "JavaScript and the DOM" heading.
