I missed the part where Guil explains how color gradients are shifted apart in a linear gradient ?

Could anyone be of help ?

Not sure exactly what's confusing you but if you don't want to repeat the entire video, you could always scan/read the w3c documentation for your answer. This is the spec for gradients that he uses in the first gradients video: http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-images/#gradients
