Development Tools Console Foundations Getting Started with the Console Moving and Deleting Files

Hello, I have a question why when I try to create a folder inside another folder on my computer's terminal

It tell me the permission is denied. mkdir: documents/notes/important: Permission denied

Use sudo

sudo mkdir test

or better yet fix your permissions by making sure you own it.

chown myusername:myusername documents/

chown means change ownership. You may not own the folder and root may own it while your not using root.
