Hi Josephine Mufowo,

Can I suggest you watch Java Basics - Strings and Variables. It covers this exact challenge in detail and you'll discover solutions to the issues you're facing with code conventions and syntax.

I can tell you the format should look like:

String variableName = "Sample String";

But I think you'd really benefit from watching the training video I linked above.
Coding can be tough at first, but don't give up :smile: Just like many worthwhile skills, it takes time and practice.
