It's asking you to do this is two different parts.

Part 1 var item = Expense(description: "Food")

Part 2 item.amount = 100 // on the next line.

struct Expense {
    var description: String
    var amount: Double = 0.0

    init (description: String) {
        self.description = description
    }
func calculateTaxes(percentage: Double) -> Double {
   return (self.amount * (percentage/100))
  }

}
 var item = Expense(description: "Food")
 item.amount = 100
