help me resolve challenge

i don't know how to get this done

I remember getting stuck on this one. It's not just .external it's a.external cause you want the LINKS with the class external

$("a.external").attr('target' ,'_blank');

also, you don't need the var target = _blank. "target" and "_blank" are already particular things. They do what they are going to do.

. In this link, adding target="_blank" inside the opening a tag, makes the link open in a NEW window instead of staying in the same window.
