Help with Challenge Task 2 of 5. Oops! It looks like Task 1 is no longer working.

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong on this challenge. this is my code but somehow it's failing. when i test in my environment it works.

def num_courses(teachers): list_of_vals = [] for key, val in teachers.items(): list_of_vals.append(len(val)) return sum(list_of_vals)

teachers.py
# The dictionary will look something like:
# {'Andrew Chalkley': ['jQuery Basics', 'Node.js Basics'],
#  'Kenneth Love': ['Python Basics', 'Python Collections']}
#
# Each key will be a Teacher and the value will be a list of courses.
#
# Your code goes below here.
def num_courses(teachers):
    list_of_vals = []
    for key, val in teachers.items():
        list_of_vals.append(len(val))
    return sum(list_of_vals)

i figured it out. I wasn't including my code from the first task.

def num_teachers(teachers): return len(teachers.keys())

def num_courses(teachers): list_of_vals = [] for key, val in teachers.items(): list_of_vals.append(len(val)) return sum(list_of_vals)
