Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types Use .split() and .join()

Help with the .split() and .join()

Question: Combine the sundaes list into a new variable named display_menu, where each item in the list is rejoined together by a comma and a space (", "). Then reassign the menu variable to use the existing variable and .format() to replace the placeholder with the new string in display_menu. If you're really brave, you can even accomplish this all on the same line where menu is currently being set.

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
display_menu= ', '.join(sundaes)
menu = "Our available flavors are:{}.".format(', '.join(display_menu))

Hi Atul,

Looking at your code, each item in the list (sundaes) is already rejoined together by a comma and a space (", ") and assigned to the display_menu variable. So, there is no need to use the .join() method again when assigning to the menu variable. Just format the string with the display_menu

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
display_menu= ', '.join(sundaes) # <-- already rejoined
menu = "Our available flavors are:{}.".format(', '.join(display_menu)) #<-- no need to use the .join() method here

When this works, try to accomplish this all on the same line where menu is currently being set.

I did it but again tge error says task 1 is no longer passing

Sorry. It works now. Thanks a lot.

Ok. just paste your code here. The corrected version
