Hi Allison,

I'm going to be honest and tell you that if you were to ask me that question in person, I would tell you to watch the tutorial videos on teamtreehouse.com haha. Digital literacy is definitely the starting place for all computer doings and I have to say that Treehouse does a good job at talking you through it.

However, if you are still feeling overwhelmed... then you should know that is 100% normal. Expected, even. I've been working with code and design for 15 years and to this day, I still struggle and find frustration with learning something brand new. The only true advice is to not give up. Take everything one step at a time and make sure you feel comfortable in your understandings before moving on to the next thing. Its a process that takes patience and gains you experience over a long period of time.

I can't tell you how many times I've slammed my head on the desk just begging the world for an understanding for a problem or challenge I'm experiencing. I could choose to give up on it and rule it out as being "too hard", but I don't like to think of myself as having those kinds of limitations. I'm more of a "you can't stop me from learning anything" type of guy.

Research, experiment, analyze, TAKE A BREAK, repeat :)

Thank you so so much Matt! This is my first day, and I'm the type, I want to understand everything the first time. But I do realize coding is a process. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm super excited about learning this!
