2,344 PointsHi, Can you please help me understand why my code doesn't work?
First I tried following along on my local machine, and it worked fine. But when I try to finish this challenge, all I get is "Bummer! Didn't get the right output." It's not a very descriptive/helpful error for me as a beginner and there are no hints in what to change in my code. I found the community post about someone having the same issue: https://teamtreehouse.com/community/i-cant-pass-challenge-task-1-of-3-to-create-articledetail and I followed the instructions there, but without any success. I tried both copy+paste the correct answers, also manually writing it and logging out and logging in.
Please help me out! I really want to continue this class.
from django.shortcuts import render
from .models import Article, Writer
def article_list(request):
articles = Article.objects.all()
return render(request, 'articles/article_list.html', {'articles': articles})
def writer_detail(request, pk):
writer = Writer.objects.get(pk=pk)
return render(request, 'articles/writer_detail.html', {'writer': writer})
def article_detail(request,pk):
article = get_object_or_404(Article,pk=pk)
return render(request,'articles/article_detail.html',{'article':article})
from django.conf.urls import url
from . import views
urlpatterns = [
url(r'writer/(?P<pk>\d+)/$', views.writer_detail),
url(r'article/(?P<pk>\d+)/$', views.article_detail),
url(r'', views.article_list),
]

But it looks like you haven't done the import.

2,344 PointsThanks Steven! That was the issue. However, this was for task 1 of 3 and that was not in the instructions on task 1 of 3. I tried it without this import at first but it didn't work anyway.
