Hi I can not understand why my code is running.

I also do not understand this line: return not num % 2

even.py
import random
start = 5
while start:
    new_num = random.randint(1,99)
    even_odd(new_num)
    start = start -1

def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    if num % 2 == 0:
        print("{} is even".format(num))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(num))
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2

you don't need to modify the even_odd function at all in this challenge. the comments explain what is going on - if a number % 2 is 0, the number is even, but 0 in python is false, so when you call the function on an even number, you would get an answer of false, which we don't want, so we invert it with not to say 1 or true if even, and 0 or false if odd.
