Design

How am I doing?

Started making designs for a dating app (iOS). What do you think (of the designs)?

More about the app itself to give you some context. IceBreaker will help you to start talking with cool people you meet in your life when you're too shy or there are some other excuses. Typical case – you are in a coffee shop or a bus and there is a cute girl sitting just a couple of meters away. Or she's with friends and you're not sure if it's a good moment.

The idea is to use real time blurred video from the back camera as a background. The main concern – this feature might be too power consuming. The answer: many customers use camera and apps like Snapchat pretty much non stop. So if they do like your app they don't really care about the battery life.

I like it. There are a few things I would change though.

  1. If I saw the lady in the background of the first view I would think wtf is she wearing? I would maybe pick someone with a more generic outfit. (Unless the app is for people with that taste?) Maybe a young women (think 25) in yoga pants common.

  2. I would remove all the commas from your placeholders and just tell the user to separate each tag with a comma. (Describe your style using 5-7 words separated with a comma.)

  3. Maybe rename "Approximate age" to "Your age".

Again nice work and interesting idea.

Thanks Philip!

  1. Good point will think about it. Most likely it's not the final picture and there will be blurred video from the back camera.

  2. "Approximate age" - means age of the person you are interested in. Most likely you don't know his/her exact age.

Thank for your feedback!

That makes more sense age the approximate age. Maybe make it a hi and lo type of filter/slider? I know in my small town, if I said about 25 then 35 could easily show up due to a low population. Also, my 29 is approximately 25 could be too old for another person.

Keep up the great work!
