JavaScript TypeScript Basics Manipulating Types Type Unions and Intersections

How are the generics Employee and Manager (or 'tim' and 'jack') being referenced here without an import?

In the video, you're able to use the Employee and Manager types from the generics.ts file but I don't understand how those are found by TS without some kind of import statement. Is generics.ts a standard file that TS looks in for these kinds of definitions or what am I missing?
