It is a pain when the question is really long so that the code window is obscured. You can gently tweak the scroll bar so that you can see all the code window, but that comes at the expense of making the question invisible.
I don't think there's any way round it, unfortunately. Just write small pieces of code at a time and check back to the question to make sure you're happy with what you've written.
Sorry I don't have a solution.
