How can I send an email newsletter to a single recipient using the Mailchimp API?

Students will need an email with the grades scored on an online test. I intend to send this email to each student once they have completed the online test.

How can I use the Mailchimp API to send personalised emails with the results a student has scored. Since it's not a marketing campaign, each student will receive an email once they and done with the test. Students can do the test at any time so each email will be sent at a different time of the day.
