How can I work along ?

How can I enter the code as the teacher is doing? Should I be able to do this in the workspace?

Yes. I'm not sure which course you're watching, but there is usually a "Launch Workspace" link in the bottom right of the video. When you click that, you should get the files that the teacher has set up for that course. Select the file you want to work in on the left side, and then follow along with the instructor. When you want to see the information in a browser, save the file(s) and click the icon of the eye in the upper right corner (it says "Preview Workspace" when you hover over it).
