Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

how come the error task one not satisfying is being shown???

please help me get through this

trial.py
def add(salary , travel_money):
    try:
        return float(salary) + float(travel_agency)
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return float(salary) + float(travel_agency)

Hey Priyanka, for the first part of the code block , you need to 'try' to convert the parameters into floats, if that fails, you throw a ValueError exception, else, return their sum, something like this:

def add(num1, num2):
    try:
        num1 = float(num1)
        num2 = float(num2)
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return num1 + num2
