HTML Introduction to HTML and CSS (2016) Make It Beautiful With CSS Test: Styling by Element and Class

How do I add a class called "main-pg" to the <p> element? This code isn't working.

index.html
<!doctype html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet">
  </head>
  <body>

    <p>class="main-pg"> My amazing website</p>

  </body>
</html>
styles.css

There is a stray closing bracket ">" in your opening <p> tag :)

Hi,Morgan. Take note of <p class="main-pg"> instead of <p>class="main-pg"> Enjoy the rest of your journey!

Naeem Abdul-Aziz has some great advice here! Make sure you include your classes within the opening and closing tags. It looks like you may have accidentally included a stray > in your markup here :-)
