In the above code you are missing the > from the end of the first opening tag, so it should be...

<script src="shout.js"></script>

Its sometimes easy to miss small things when you have been staring at a screen for a while :)

Yes it's, I spent five days reviewing my javascript code for a missing semicolon :) :'(
