how do i create a function that returns items in python in slices ? Im really stuck please help

Hi there, hope this helps..

  1. the function must have an argument as the question mentions that any iterable will passed in so you could write
def first_4(itr):
  1. return the first four characters of the passed in iterable 
itr[:4]
