how do i retrieve my website if i deleted it by accident

Really sorry to hear about this! Where is your website hosted? If you have shared web hosting, a great many, I would say most plans include some form of backup, so the first thing to do would be to log into your hosting account and open a support ticket. Even if the plan doesn't include backup, the hosts usually make backups by default in case their own hardware or software causes you data loss. In those cases, you may have to pay a restoration fee, but I would say it's very rare for a shared web host not to make backups of websites. However you don't know how long they keep backups, etc, so it's important to reach out to them ASAP.

Any other options will depend on the specifics of your set up - did you upload your files via ftp? If so they should still be saved somewhere on your PC, If that's the case, you can just upload the files again. Finally, did you develop the site on your team tree house workspace? If so, you can click on the workspaces tab above and look through your workspaces to find the relevent one.

... if your website was hosted, you can "download it back" via ftp ... take a ftp-client like FileZilla or Cyberduck and then just drag the files you want back into a folder on your machine ... FileZilla shows all the files on the server on the left and your system on the right ... hope that helped you ... if you did not host the site ... then you would need a back-up of the system... if you are on a mac and use time machine ... grab it from there ... hope you can recover your files ... regards, Jan.
