How do I set the border color for <p> elements to red

You don't need to use the p tag when you have declared a class name, you just need to use the class like so:

.class-name {
  /* style rule */
}

Try removing the p {} as shown below and it should work! 

.main-pg {
    border: 4px solid red;
}
