How do you connect the final points?

Are you deselecting the anchors, The final ponit from where you say and than again goes to fast to follow

With your pen tool, you need to make sure the point of the pen is clicked right on the first anchor point you made to start drawing the object. You should see a small circle to the bottom right of the pen tool when you're hovering over the first point. Click on that and it should close the object.

Thank you for your reply Tracy Trathen.. I did that several times clicking on the anchor, it does not come out like on his video so I have moved on for now and will go back at a later time.

Thank you once again.

The pen is a tricky thing to learn, but I definitely recommend it if you plan on using Illustrator a lot. It's my most used tool, and I've been doing graphic design for a LONG time.

I have used fireworks a little. It seems to be a lot easier to use. Adobe products are very powerful but not very user friendly. Have to learn more on web development first. html is the easiest. Will learn more on Wordpress after studying more on css and php. Than more on Photoshop and Illustrator.
