How do you know when you are "Work ready"?

I have some amateur/hobbyist coding experience, but nothing I'd consider close to being "work ready"; Hence, I'm here! What standard is typically expected of one going into their role as a junior/entry level coder. I'm currently covering Python. That is, what level, or type of problems should I be able to take on before considering applying for work.
