How does my website look (so far)?

I could not figure out how to edit my last question, so I am putting this up here.

I have finished the basic html and css track on the web design track about 2 weeks ago and decided to rebuild my photo site.

Here is the github link https://github.com/Torgian/website-dev.git

Please keep in mind that I have not added a contact page yet.

I hope that works, if not please let me know, and I'll add a comment down below with an updated link.

So I am also using bootstrap, which is why it took me about 2 weeks to build this up because I had to learn to use bootstrap. Took me a while, but here it is.

And I have a question: pay attention to the gallery page. I want to make it so that the thumbnails in my gallery stay at a certain height. I did put in a max-height limit, but as you expand the viewing port, it gets a little jumbled.

How do I make it so that the thumbnails stay clean and uniform?

Otherwise, please critique, let me know what you would do to improve the design. Tomorrow I will be resuming my web design track.

Thank you!

Wow, I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner!! Life got in the way. I see that you've updated your site, awesome! Your gallery looks much better! Here's a few little critiques. The gallery doesn't appear to be centered with page, it's leaning to the left side. Also on your about page the yellow font literally disappears into the sunset! :) Speaking of the sunset, the background of your site is very beautiful, but it's a little distracting. Since the background is so colorful it takes my attention away from you work. Your photographs are really great so try finding a simple background that will help make those photos pop! Did you take the picture that's used as the background? It's such an eye capturing photo, so it could still be used somehow on your home/landing page. I can see though that you're still working on it and experimenting with things so keep it up!!! :)

Check out http://www.awwwards.com/ for some awesome web design inspiration!! Since I can see you're having fun trying new things I think you'll really enjoy seeing what some experts out there are doing!

Keep up the awesome work!! :)

Thanks :) Yes, I'm currently still learning some more CSS stuff, as well as bootstrap and soon flexbot. Thanks for the link, I do feel like I need to increase my knowledge on design and such.

I will be fixing up the rest of the page soon, as I am currently working on the contact page. Once I draw up a draft of how I want my gallery to look like (as there will be different categories) I will update the website to a more useable state.

As for the background, I took that summer of last year from near the top of Mt. Fuji as the sun was rising. Last August. Was a horrendous climb, as I started from the very base of the mountain rather than the 5th station. This year I will climb it again, as I want to get some night photos from the peak so I will be starting from the 5th station.

Keep in touch please :) I'd like to pick your brain at some point.

That all sounds wonderful!! It's great to have those goals and ideas that you want to work towards.

Also, wow, that is incredible that you took that photo and climbed Mt.Fuji!! I don't think I will ever have that privilege. Which is why photography is soooo important! That way those of us who can't do those things can you live through those that can!

Well I can't wait to see how your site grows! I'm sure you will build something amazing to show off your amazing photos. We shall keep in touch for sure.

Have you heard about jAlbum? I used it for this website: cecyteguacamayas.edu.mx

The Github link is great but it does not allow us to see your site live in action. Is your site hosted somewhere or are you using Github pages? Either way the link you provided doesn't take us directly to your site so that we may adjust the gallery page ourself and test what you are seeing. I'd love to help though, so if you have another link to your site let me know!

I'm halfway through the CSS course now, and already can see where I can improve the code. Please give me your thoughts as well.
