How does one spread an app?

Hi everyone,

If someone publishes an app, their app will never be found because in playstore search results, all the top rated apps get priority. Even if you search your app's specific title, nothing will be shown. Only if I type in my publishing name will my apps be brought up. My question is how do people get their app known to people/the world?

You can probably add keywords or tags to your app, so that it will show up for those searches. Plus you can put it in a category so that it will show up there (such as games/tools/etc.)

You could create a website for the app and market it via social media, and use proper SEO methods on the website.

All in all, I'm sure that in general it works the same way as making anything else known.

Additionally you need to think about app store optimisaiton (ASO) and do some research into the different needs of each store. Not getting any results by typing in the specific name is an issue - is it the same name as another app? Is the app headline/name only keywords? In which case the most highly rated keyword users will come out on top of you.

Most people find apps through browsing the app store organically - and so you need to think about what your users want, what key words they are searching and how you can get your app out on top.

You'll also probably want a social media campaign of some description, so in general..the answer is think about your users, the problems they might have, how they might try to solve them and how you can be that solution...
