How does the instructor get his cursor on the second line along with the } on the third line as soon as he types { ?

Example during:

class xyz {

}

Hey Aaresh,

This would be part of the 'auto-complete' functionality of the IDE (Xcode) in this case. It's done by opening the Brace and then just hitting enter. It may be a preference that needs to be turned, if its not working for you.

Under Preferences > Text Editing there should be a checkbox for "Automatically insert closing braces" ... make sure this is checked.
