How does the PDO connection process differ with MySQL?

The SQLite database connection requires you supply the path to the .db file. MySQL works a bit differently and I would like to know if there are good resources available to establish that connection.

I found it by using my eyes and googling skills :)

http://php.net/manual/en/ref.pdo-mysql.connection.php

That's the link to the documentation regarding the MySQL PDO

<?php
$dsn = 'mysql:host=localhost;dbname=testdb';
$username = 'username';
$password = 'password';
$options = array(
    PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_INIT_COMMAND => 'SET NAMES utf8',
);

$dbh = new PDO($dsn, $username, $password, $options);
?>

Is the code needed to make the connection
