Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Exiting

how is this wrong

so i'm following this to the letter and i don't know how its wrong

firedoor.py
import sys

def play_movie():
    if input() != "n" or "N":
        print("Enjoy the show!")
    else:
        sys.exit()

1 Answer

Two things

  1. It doesn't say to put the code into a function.
  2. The setup that you have checks for either of these to be True; input != "n" or "N" Since bool("N") is True it will always play the movie.

Below I've moved the code out of the function and compared input to both values.

import sys

play_movie = input("Play movie? ")
if play_movie != "n" and play_movie != "N":
    print("Enjoy the show!")
else:
    sys.exit()
