Hi Oliver,

I think the new versions of Studio include application updates as well as security and vulnerability fixes. I suspect earlier versions of Studio are deprecated and not to be used.

You can download earlier versions of Android using the SDK Manager so you're able to develop apps for older Android devices but you'll need to use the latest version of Android Studio to do that.
