how to download the treehouse videos? do i have to download the treehouse app for that

Actually it's quite easy. And no you don't need the app in order to accomplish that.

Under every lesson video is a menu that includes Teacher's Notes, sometimes a video transcript, but you'll find a downloads tab. If you open that, it should show you not only project file downloads, but also the download files for the lesson videos.

Also.. if that's too tedious, you can find all of the lesson videos on itunes and download them for free :-)
