Treehouse TeacherHere's the thing about challenges. You must follow the instructions to the letter. The big problem here? You're missing an exclamation point. Seriously, that's all. Your second line would work if it just had the exclamation point. Take a look:

if($name === 'Mike') {
echo 'Hi, I am Mike!';

Idan Melamed is correct. At some point you changed $name to name in your if statement. But you clearly had it correct in the previous step.

The first thing to notice is that in your if statement the variable should be $name. Then you need to echo 'Hi, I am Mike!'. It might be best to copy-paste it from the instructions.
The end result should look like this:

echo 'Hi, I am Mike!';
}
?>
