How to hide Detail view on launch of Master-Detail app in ipad?

I have a Master-Detail app for ipad which Detail view is loaded with placeholder text and only updates when a cell in tableview (Master) is tapped.

How can i make the app launch without the Detail view and make it appears only when user select a row in master?
