Hi there Karthika,

<!doctype html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet">
  </head>
  <body>

   <p class="main-pg">my amazing website</p>

  </body>
</html>

Ow you were so close! You just forgot to put the quote marks around the class attribute value. Don't forget them because your html needs to know where to begin and where to end a class value.

I hope that helped. Happy coding ?

I also forgot to mention, you must remove the period or full stop before your class value. That should only be used in the css

thanks furkanongoren.;-) .much appreciated..its very helpful...
